Why I Use Organic Carrot Seed Oil Instead of Sunscreen

YES, YOU HEARD ME CORRECTLY! I don’t use sunscreen. I know I know some of y’all are probably thinking I’m crazy. But, hear me out, it has been the best decision ever! If you know me you know that I try to put only the best quality food and products into and on my body. All things whole, organic, natural, and raw are my sweet spot. If you’ve honed in on any certain area of health, you know that the journey is not linear, and I truly feel like it is an ever-evolving and never-ending process. There are hundreds of thousands of remedies, alternatives, and “cure-alls” out there, which is a blessing and curse. I love how there is so much out there to explore and research, and on the other hand, it is extremely overwhelming when trying to figure a place to start!

When you first take a glance at the sunscreen Industry, it is a multi-billion dollar mogul. Which is a red flag in and of itself. Then you look at the ingredients in the sunscreen, and it is FOUL. The majority of sunscreens sold are filled with chemical-ridden and cancer-causing ingredients. Did you know there is a carcinogen called Benzene in 78 popular sunscreens?! It is by definition a flammable liquid, excuse me what! There is not one reason you could explain to me why there would be a beneficial reason to put that in any product! It is largely linked to deadly cancers such as Leukemia and other blood cancers. I don’t find it a coincidence that the most common cancer is skin cancer. In an era where most people avoid sun exposure altogether, and when they are in it, they slather on the sunscreen, so why are the rates the highest they’ve ever been in regards to skin cancer? Last summer Sun Bum, Neutrogena, Banana Boat, and CVS Brand sunscreens were recalled due to the ingredient Benzene being in them, and that’s just one of the many ingredients that are such a detriment to your health.

So what is an organic and natural alternative to store-bought sunscreen? Organic Carrot Seed Oil. It is way more cost and health effective, which is amazing! It’s extracted from the carrot plant, Daucus Carota. It is often obtained from wild carrots in European countries. To ensure you are getting the most potent and quality Carrot Seed Oil, it should always be from organic carrots and cold-pressed to retain all of the nutrients!

Carrot Seed Oil has many many benefits to it. It has a natural SPF property of 38-40 (we love)! It also helps kill bacteria and fungi, fights cancer cells, is a powerful antioxidant, supports skin and hair health, and moisturizes and protects the skin barrier. A powerhouse component of Carrot Seed Oil is Polyphenols. They are great for their liver-protecting qualities, as in the Carrot Seed Oil they shield from liver damage and offer strong protection from free radicals that cause oxidative stress and cell damage. The oil contains high amounts of Vitamin A, which protects the skin from sun damage, prevents premature wrinkling, helps heal acne, and evens out skin tone! Another amazing benefit is its antiseptic properties. Thus preventing infection, and bacteria from taking hold and causing more issues. One of my favorite properties is its ability to cleanse the blood and eliminate the build-up of toxins.

All in all Carrot Seed Oil is an amazing essential oil to have in your health regimen whether topically or internally! It is relatively inexpensive and easy to incorporate into your beauty/health routine. If you’ve tried it, I’d love to hear how you use it!
